In its 4Q15 review of the office markets of Latin America, CBRE noted that net absorption of prime office space in Santiago de Chile during the quarter amounted to 2,000 square metres. The average vacancy rate was 9.3%. Across the 11 cities in the region that were surveyed by CBRE, net absorption during the quarter amounted to 380,000 square metres and the average vacancy rate was 13.9%. In relation to the prime office market in Santiago de Chile over 2015 as a whole, CBRE highlighted how developers had taken a more cautious approach given the impact on the economy of falling commodities prices.
