In its report ‘Global Luxury Retail 2015’, CBRE noted that Tokyo is the fifth most luxurious city globally. Some 79% of all luxury brands have a presence there. In 2013, 79% of brands could be found in Tokyo. Some 38% of luxury and business fashion brands are targeting Japan for expansion in 2015. By this measure, Japan is seen as the equal fifth most prospective of the 10 national/ territory markets profiled by CBRE. 10 new luxury and business fashion brands opened a store in Tokyo in 2014.
