CBRE: Very low vacancy rates for LMTs in Greater Tokyo
In its recently published 2016 Japan Outlook, CBRE Research noted that the vacancy rate for Large Multi-tenant Logistics Facilities (LMTs) across Greater Tokyo as a whole stood at 3.5% in 3Q15, having been below 5% since early 2012. This is partly because occupier confidence has risen since the Tohoku earthquake of 2011. It is also because companies have preferred to stock inventory in more than one location since the the earthquake. Also, companies have sought large scale warehouses, which are more efficient.
