According to Colliers International, the current stock of retail space in greater Istanbul amounts to 3.91mn square metres of leasable area (or 39.5% of the total for Turkey) across 114 shopping centres (or 34.4% of the national total).  The future pipeline includes 1.31mn square metres across 28 shopping centres. Elsewhere in the country, there are 29 provinces with no shopping centres at all.
