C&W: Amount of new office space in Los Angeles through 2016-18 equivalent to 0.8% of existing stock

In the Spring 2016 edition of its ‘Occupier Edge’ publication, Cushman & Wakefield examined where technology, media and telecommunications (TMT) companies took up office space in the USA and the UK outside the two largest metropolitan areas of New York City and London, respectively, in 2014-15. They found that the average deal size for TMT in Los Angeles was 2,564 square feet. By contrast, the average deal size for banking/financial services companies that leased space in the city was 27,404 square feet. The amount of new office space that should become available in Los Angeles in 2016-18 is equal to 0.8% of the current stock.
