According to DTZ’s Property Times, a little over 500,000 square metres of grade A office space should become available in Chengdu through 2H15. This is in the context of existing stock of 1,757,000 square metres. New projects will be concentrated in the Dongda Street and Tianfu New City sub-markets. Examples include Pinnacle One, WIFC and Yintai Center. DTZ anticipates that vacancy rates in these areas will remain ‘stubbornly high’, with the result that pressure on rents is downwards.
