EIU: Detroit suffers one of the sharpest falls in liveability of any city over last five years.
According to the EIU’s Summary of the Liveability Ranking and Overview for 2015, Detroit has suffered one of the sharpest falls in liveability over the last five years of any of the cities globally that it considered. Its score fell 5.7 points to 85.0 (out of 100 – based on stability, healthcare, culture/entertainment, education and infrastructure). Nevertheless, the EIU assesses that there are ‘few, if any, challenges to living standards’ ion Detroit, which is ranked 57th out of the 140 cities considered. The five most liveable cities and their latest scores are Melbourne (97.5), Vienna (97.4), Vancouver (97.3), Toronto (97.2), Adelaide (96.6) and Calgary (96.6).
