The latest Global Financial Centres Index published by the Qatar Finance Centre Authority and Long Finance (GFCI 17) listed Los Angeles as one of 15 ‘associate centres’. These are centres which did not receive a sufficient number of assessments over the previous two years. New York City, San Francisco, Chicago, Boston, and Washington DC all rank among the 12 most competitive centres globally.
