The latest Global Financial Centres Index published by the Qatar Finance Centre Authority and Long Finance (GFCI 17) found that Tokyo has become the fifth most competitive financial centre globally, having been sixth in late 2014. Its overall rating of 722 of 1,000 (up 4) puts it marginally ahead of Zurich (whose overall rating rose by 2 to 719.
