Ireland: Property developers label state of Irish housing an ‘accommodation crisis’

Property investors, developers and architects have said Ireland is facing an ‘accommodation crisis’ as the spiraling numbers of people in emergency accommodation are compounded by a lack of beds for student and nursing home residents.

Speaking at Cullaun Capital’s Doing Property Deals in Ireland event recently, architect Arthur O’Brien said statistics showed there isn’t a housing crisis, with 2,500 more housing units built in the 12 months to March 2019 than sold.
