JLL: New York City in overall equal seventh place in City Momentum Index (CMI) ranking

In its third annual City Momentum Index (CMI) ranking, Jones Lang LaSalle found that New York City was the city that, overall, has the equal seventh most dynamic urban economy and that is adapting most rapidly to technological and infrastructural transformation. The CMI analysis considers 37 variables across 10 topics in relation to socio-economic momentum, commercial real estate momentum and ‘high-value incubators (higher education facilities, patent applications etc.). Transformational projects and policies underway in New York City that were highlighted by JLL included the completion of Phase 1 of the Second Avenue Subway, the construction of the Cornell Tech campus on Roosevelt Island and the Hudson Yards/Manhattan West project.
