JLL: Shanghai in overall sixth place in City Momentum Index (CMI) ranking

In its third annual City Momentum Index (CMI) ranking, Jones Lang LaSalle found that Shanghai was the city that, overall, has the [xth] most dynamic urban economy and that is adapting most rapidly to technological and infrastructural transformation. The CMI analysis considers 37 variables across 10 topics in relation to socio-economic momentum, commercial real estate momentum and ‘high-value incubators (higher education facilities, patent applications etc.). Transformational projects and policies underway in Shanghai that were highlighted by JLL included the new financial districts of Qiantan and Hongkou, the ongoing (and massive) expansion of the subway network and the Disneyland and DreamWorks projects.
