In its Retail Focus Research Report for Autumn of 2015, Knight Frank (KF) noted that the total Gross Lettable Area (GLA) of shopping mall space in Dubai should grow from the current level of just over 3mn square metres to a little over 4mn square metres in 2018 and 2019 to 5mn in 2020. KF considers that the recent expansion of the Mall of the Emirates and Dubai Mall have highlighted the continued demand for super regional malls, as well as the repositioning of the tenant mix.
