In its Retail Focus Research Report for Autumn of 2015, Knight Frank (KF) noted that the Yas Mall, which is a new 238,000 square metre super-regional mall that opened in 2014, typifies the movement towards super-regional malls in the city. Regional and super-regional malls account for about 80% of the retail space in Abu Dhabi. As recently as 2012, there were no super-regional malls in the city.
