According to NAREIT’s July REITWatch, the FTSE NAREIT All REITs index returned -5.24% in USD terms in 1H15. The FTSE NAREIT All Equity REITs Index produced total returns of -5.44%. Over the same period, the S&P500, the Russell 2000 and the NASDAQ Composite returned +1.23%, +4.75% and +5.90% respectively. The Dow Jones Industrial Average tracked sideways, returning +0.04%. At the end of June 2015, the market capitalisations of the FTSE NAREIT All REITs and All Equity REITs indices stood at USD890bn and USD826bn respectively. The REITs owned about USD1.7trillion in commercial real estate assets.
