In its recently published report, China’s Cities, Savills noted that retail sales in Wuhan in 2013 amounted to about CNY395bn and, by that measure, was the seventh largest metropolitan retail market in the country. Disposable income among urban households was approximately CNY30,000 per annum. GDP per capita was CNY90,000. In 2011, there were around 115mn domestic tourism arrivals and about 1.5mn international tourism arrivals.
