"Countryside's profits have been given a boost thanks to sharply rising house prices and a chronic lack of supply.

The house builder, which floated in February, reported that the average price of its houses climbed 46pc in the six months to the end of March, compared to the same time last year. This was due to an improved mix of the type of homes built, as well as strong demand for housing in outer London and the South East."
