ULI: Birmingham faces density challenges and opportunities of a bounce-back city.

TrendTracker_2

A research paper by the Urban Land Institute (ULI), ‘The Density Dividend: solutions for growing and shrinking cities’, explains how six major European cities can solve strategic challenges by managing population density. Birmingham is seen a bounce-back city: its major challenge is to attract new economy firms in order to attract greater numbers of workers. Its current density profile is described as being consistently low-to-medium density. There is a lot of green space. In the suburbs, density is generally low.
