German property prices soaring – but for how long?

    From glitzy Munich to modern Frankfurt and hip Berlin, urban real-estate prices continue to surge in Germany despite scattered signs the market is overheating.

    If you’re looking to buy property in Germany, chances are you’ll fork over an increasingly hefty sum. In recent years, real-estate prices have gone through the roof in big cities like Berlin, Munich, Hamburg and Frankfurt, and there’s no end in sight. Industry experts find little to indicate a looming price collapse, thanks to Germany’s strong economy, low interest rates and an ongoing migration into cities, although the rate of house-price inflation is slowing.
