The latest Global Financial Centres Index published by the Qatar Finance Centre Authority and Long Finance (GFCI 17) found that New York City remains the most competitive financial centre globally, with an increased rating of 785 out of 1,000. By this measure, New York City is only just ahead of London (with a rating of 784). The analysis is based on instrumental factors in five areas (e.g. infrastructure and business environment) and nearly 28,500 assessments from a survey of over 3,500 financial professionals globally over two years.
