In its third annual City Momentum Index (CMI) ranking, Jones Lang LaSalle found that Auckland was the city that, overall, has the 20th most dynamic urban economy and that is adapting most rapidly to technological and infrastructural transformation. The CMI analysis considers 37 variables across 10 topics in relation to socio-economic momentum, commercial real estate momentum and ‘high-value incubators (higher education facilities, patent applications etc.). Transformational projects and policies underway in Auckland that were highlighted by JLL included the ongoing development of the Wynyard Quarter on the city’s waterfront, as well as the proposed City Rail Link – which will include new stations in the centre of Auckland.
