In its third annual City Momentum Index (CMI) ranking, Jones Lang LaSalle found that London was the city that, overall, has the most dynamic urban economy and that is adapting most rapidly to technological and infrastructural transformation. The CMI analysis considers 37 variables across 10 topics in relation to socio-economic momentum, commercial real estate momentum and ‘high-value incubators (higher education facilities, patent applications etc.). Transformational projects and policies underway in London that were highlighted by JLL included the USD22bn Crossrail project, the new university campuses for Imperial West and UCL East, the mixed-use development at Nine Elms and the extension of the Northern Line of the London Underground.
