In its third annual City Momentum Index (CMI) ranking, Jones Lang LaSalle found that Sydney was the city that, overall, has the equal seventh most dynamic urban economy and that is adapting most rapidly to technological and infrastructural transformation. The CMI analysis considers 37 variables across 10 topics in relation to socio-economic momentum, commercial real estate momentum and ‘high-value incubators (higher education facilities, patent applications etc.). Transformational projects and policies underway in Sydney that were highlighted by JLL included the Barangaroo development next to the Central Business District and the Sydney Metro Northwest rail project.
